Evening Open House Hours start at SpurWing Greens!

Be Fashionably Late at SpurWing Greens, a special marketing campaign by Tahoe Homes at this location, starts Saturday, July 16 and runs through Friday, July 29. We’re holding evening open house hours from 5 – 9 p.m. every evening for the next 14 days, in hopes of attracting commuters and those that prefer to venture out during evening hours. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour two fully merchandised model homes that reveal some of the more stylistic trends found in cosmopolitan markets. The sleekness of the cabinetry, Quartz surfaces, glass tiles, luxe fabrics and decorative lighting amplify the relaxed yet modern feel to these remarkable homes. Both of these homes are appropriately priced at $254,800 and $338,600, with several others at various stages of construction.

2011 Idaho Botanical Garden Tour travels through SpurWing Greens, Sunday, June 12

The Carnahan residence, just northwest of SpurWing Greens and well-known for its extraordinary landscaping, is featured in this year’s Idaho Botanical Garden Tour. Guests will see a variety of favorite perennials and lush indigenous plantings in this exquisite, panoramic setting. The SpurWing Greens Builder Team would like to extend a special invitation to those on the Garden Tour to stop by their decorated models this Sunday. These homes have been described as one of the most upscale collections of single level homes in the Treasure Valley. (We do offer two-story homes as well.) Opening weekend of Parade of Homes draws crowd

If the number of people touring parade homes is an indication of the overall health of the real estate market, then we’re at the start of an upswing! SpurWing Greens reported record numbers during the opening weekend for the 2011 BCA Parade of Homes, with well over 300 visitors both Saturday and Sunday touring any of the neighborhood’s three parade homes. Featured builders are Blackstead Building Co., James Clyde Custom Homes and Tahoe Homes. With price points ranging from the mid $200,000s to over $400,000, and special attention to interior finishes instead of square feet, these moderately-sized homes score points in style. Builders are introducing new materials in their entries this year, including a unique tile flooring that “has the look and warmth of wood.” Natural stone finishes, such as Quartz, is also making a comeback.

Also worth noting is Blackstead Building Co.’s parade entry, the Silver Oak, which was awarded first place in all six design categories of his division.

The Parade of Homes runs April 30 – May 15, weekdays 5 – 8 p.m. and weekends 12 – 8 p.m., and is open to the public. We hope to see you soon!

Extraordinary amenities shaping up at SpurWing Greens

There’s a lot happening at SpurWing Greens these days. Not only is there a variety of new homes to choose from, but four substantial amenities are also taking shape, with SpurWing’s distinctive style evident for overall project unity. Larson Architects, P.A., SpurWing’s long-time architectural firm, led the design efforts with Rod Blackstead providing construction management.

Most prominent on the list of additions is the Chinden entrance, with two 20 ft. sandstone entrance monuments flanking N. Tree Farm Way. Massive 36″ ft. wood timbers will stretch perpendicular to the nearby sidewalks to offer both shelter and additional character. You may see this structure reflecting some similarities to the classic style of Frank Lloyd Wright – we love it!

Next, a three-court tennis center is nearly complete. The final seal to the tennis courts, slated as dark blue with green trim (a color scheme typically found at the U.S. Open), will be scheduled in early spring. The center includes His-and-Her bathrooms, changing room with lockers, small catering kitchen with refrigerator, and a large covered patio highlighted by a fireplace and barbecue. We anticipate this newest addition being a popular 3-season gathering place for residents to relax or entertain.

The Estates entrance of SpurWing Greens is also moving forward. The 17 ft. h x 30 ft. w structure spans Old Gold Drive and is designed to complement the architectural style of SpurWing Country Club with its metalwork and sandstone finishes. Residents within this section of the neighborhood will enjoy private access along with a separate enclosed structure to retrieve mail, as well as a semi-enclosed observation area overlooking the nearby pond and waterfalls.

Finally, a gated entrance between the original SpurWing development and SpurWing Greens will link the two neighborhoods, so members on both sides can easily access the tennis courts and/or country club. This impressive entrance continues the architectural style with 5 ft. sandstone planter columns book-ending the entrance, located just off of Sunset Maple in SpurWing Greens.
